Who Our Program Is For
Dao Resilia is designed for individuals who want to improve their mental and emotional well-being through trauma-informed movement. Our classes are suitable for people experiencing:
- trauma or post-traumatic stress
- depression or low mood
- anxiety or chronic stress
- emotional overwhelm or burnout
- difficulty connecting to their bodies
- feeling disconnected, tense, or dysregulated
- loss of confidence or agency
Our approach is supportive, accessible, and rooted in evidence-based principles of somatic healing, martial arts, and nervous-system regulation.
Who Our Program Is Not For
For ethical and safety reasons, Dao Resilia is not appropriate for individuals currently experiencing:
- active psychosis or schizophrenia
- severe eating disorders requiring medical supervision (e.g., acute anorexia)
- unmanaged bipolar manic episodes
- acute suicidal ideation or self-harm requiring crisis intervention
- medical conditions that contraindicate moderate physical activity
- substance intoxication during sessions
- violent behavior or a risk of harm to others
These conditions require specialized clinical treatment that our program does not replace.
We strongly encourage individuals experiencing these symptoms to seek support from licensed mental health or medical professionals. If needed, we can help connect participants with appropriate services.
Our Commitment to Safety
To ensure safe, supportive classes:
- All instructors are trained in trauma-informed approaches
- Sessions emphasize choice, grounding, and emotional safety
- We avoid triggering language, aggressive drills, or unsafe physical contact
- Participants can pause or opt out at any time
- We maintain a clear boundary: This is not therapy
- We follow a structured distress protocol for anyone who becomes overwhelmed
